Ryan’s career path has played a critical role in enabling his leadership success at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Corporation.
Ryan begain his career with the City of Regina in the Public Works Department, followed by positions of Assistant City Engineer and later the Director of Engineering with the City of Moose Jaw, Area Project Manager, and acting Regional Manager of Project Management Responsible for Project Delivery for the Western Region, with Public Works and Government Services Canada.

During his employment with the City of Moose Jaw, Ryan was heavily involved with the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant. He also served as a Board Member from 2002 to 2007, and performed the duties of Board Chair from 2007 to 2010.

Ryan currently serves as a Board Member of the Canadian Water & Wastewater Association representing Saskatchewan, is a Board Member of the Western Canadian Section of the American Waterwork Association, as the Member at Large for the Canadian Affairs Committee, and is a committee member for Saskatchewan Polytechnic Civil Engineering Technology Program Advisory Committee, and the University of Regina Environmental Systems Engineering Advisory Group.

In Ryan’s spare time, he is a Captain in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Reservist, and he works with the local Air Cadet Squadron in various roles including Commanding Officer.

Ryan has a Bachelors of Applied Science in Environmental Systems Engineering, and a Masters of Applied Science in Environmental Systems Engineering, both from the University of Regina. He also has a Post-Graduate Diploma of Business Foundations from the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business. In 2017 he received the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Outstanding Service Award. Ryan received his P.Eng. licence in 1998.
