Patricia Warsaba 2020Appointment of New Board Member

The Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Corporation is pleased to announce that Ms. Patricia J.F. Warsaba, Q.C., MCKERCHER LLP BARRISTERS & SOLICITORS, has been appointed to the Buffalo Pound Water Board of Directors for a three (3) year term; commencing May 21, 2020.

Patricia has been a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan since 1983. She is a partner of McKercher LLP in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Patricia has a broad range of experience and expertise in corporate and commercial transactions, including handling and advising on corporate governance matters, securities and equity financing, real estate transactions, sales and acquisitions, lending, financing and development. Patricia is the only Saskatchewan lawyer with significant experience in entertainment law. In recent years, Patricia has been focusing her practice in agri- business and has been lead counsel for innovative business models, including the sale of Assiniboia Farmland Holdings LP to CPPIB and the listing of Input Capital Corp. on the TSX-V. She acts for numerous multi-national companies constructing and operating processing plants throughout the province.

Patricia currently sits on the boards of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Creative Saskatchewan and Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Corp. Patricia is the corporate secretary for Input Capital Corp. She is a past Chair of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce and was a board member and vice-chair of The Regina International Airport Authority and a past director and trustee of the National Film Board of Canada.

Patricia received her law degree at the University of Manitoba in 1982. Patricia was named a “Woman of Influence” by Sask Business magazine in 2011 and was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2010.

Patricia is listed in The Best Lawyers in Canada in the fields of Entertainment Law, Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions Law (2020 Lawyer of the Year). She is repeatedly recommended in the area of corporate commercial law, corporate mid-market and mergers and acquisitions in The Canadian Legal Expert Directory and is ranked in Band 1 for General Business Law in Saskatchewan by Chamber Canada.
